Evangelism & Outreach Ministry
John 13:34-35 (King James Version)
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
The Evangelism Department ministers to the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the people in the Morristown and neighborhood communities through outreach ministries and activities (i.e., Gospel Fest Community Fellowship, Operation Love, Community Health Day, Nursing Home Visitation, etc.), street services, conversations with residents, prayers and an annual picnic event.

Operation Love is an outreach ministry that was initiated by the church to identify and help families and seniors with critical economic needs during the Christmas season. It has grown to become a partnership of churches, companies, agencies and individuals providing financing for purchase of the food, meat, poultry, produce, fruit, gifts, toiletries, clothing, toys and gift certificates that benefits hundreds of families each year.
Community Health Day (CHD) was developed by the church (COGIC) as a family day of wellness aimed at engaging the community in health education and awareness. Today, it is a partnership between COGIC, the African American Churches, Morristown Memorial Hospital and local businesses. The CHD program provides extensive medical screenings, as well as health education and enrichment events focused on prevention, early detection and healthy lifestyle.
